I am a starting as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Freedom and Community at St Olaf College. I earned my PhD in economics from the University of Pittsburgh in the spring of 2026.
My research interests are broadly in labor economics and political economy. I study these topics in historical settings, using archival microdata and modern causal methods to illuminate the institutional roots of today’s labor market and political inequities across gender and race.
I am currently most interested in disenfranchised groups in the US and their agency, with ongoing research on school desegregation during the Civil Rights Era and women’s political and labor market movements during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
